"Old Barn II"

Available - This is an old barn located in East Austin. It spoke to me, so I had to paint it. As you can see from my blog, sometimes I paint very traditional and other times, I just let my mind loose. Lately I've been asked to paint larger, so this is my largest painting to date - 18 x 24! Enjoy!

"Odd Balls"

Available - I created this abstract in a recent workshop with super artist Rae Andrews. This is mixed media starting with colored pastel paper, watercolor and inks and finally accented with pastels. I love doing abstracts - never know what's going to come out of my head.

"Lake Austin" - SOLD

SOLD - (Thank you Rebecca for selling another painting) This is a plein air painting done at Laguna Gloria down behind the mansion on the lake. Such a beautiful property with many areas to paint. I will go back soon and pick another spot to paint. It was an overcast day with periodic sun peeking thru the clouds. Very quiet, peaceful morning to paint.

"Little Orange Skirt"

This one was tough! I've never painted a child before and it's very difficult. At different stages she looked like a witch, street walker, old lady and finally I got this look. Now she kind of looks like a porcelain doll!! This is the little girl that belongs to mom in the painting "Orange Skirt". Comments??!!

"Orange Skirt"

Available - I painted this today from a photo of a lovely girl in Ajijic Mexico. She had a beautiful daughter that had just wandered off. A few of the women in this town wore full festive dress, but most did not. As soon as I saw her I knew I wanted to paint her and her daughter.

"Rockport Palms" SOLD

Thanks Geri for adding this one to your Rockport art collection. Goodbye Rockport for now. This was my last view of Rockport on Sunday before returning home. The sky was just starting to cloud up, then it turned very dark, and it poured rain. We just caught a piece of the storm before getting out of town. Great weekend.

"Fishing's Done"

More Rockport plein air. These boats were through fishing for the day, parked and the owners were enjoying happy hour after a hard day. Some of the boat owners wanted to purchase the paintings of their boats, but our prices were probably what they make for the whole day fishing. They did enjoy watching us all paint their "prize possessions.".

"Bait House"

I just got back from the annual Rockport Plein Air painting trip with 11 other people. We all had a great time and painted many local scenes. At the end of the day, several of us had painted the same vicinity, but all the paintings looked so different. This is an ink sketch I did of a little bait shack I then watercolored. We had a lot of wind, plenty of bugs and very irregular sunlight. That's the fun of plein air - you never know what "elements" will hamper your painting task. At the end of the day there were plenty of sunburns, show & tell, lots of laughs and stories to share. Great group of painting friends!!

Design II

Available - This is pastel over watercolor - a design that I created out of my head one afternoon. It was originally an abstract tree, but I carried it beyond that. It works both vertically and horizontally and I wasn't sure which way to post. So maybe tilt your head to the right and see it the other way! Today was a good day - I sold 3 more paintings out of "The Home Spa" from my French travels. Way to go Rebecca!
