"My Back Yard"

This is a plein air painting of the Brushy Creek view in my back yard. I struggled with this because it's all so greeeen. I had to go back and make some color adjustments from the first attempt.

"Anduze France"

This is a little watercolor sketch of a scene we passed every day going "somewhere" while on our Provence vacation last year. It was just after crossing the bridge to the little town of Anduze. One day we finally stopped and snapped a picture.

"Lavender Farm"

Available - This was painted this past weekend at the Lavender Festival in Wimberley. Unfortunately, the lavender has not bloomed this year due to the weather. We painted anyway as there was beauty even without the blooms. I hope to go back later and paint this scene again when the lavender finally explodes in color.

"Big Bird" - SOLD

Available - This is actually an older painting I did of a bird of paradise. I thought I'd put it on the blog because it has so much color and I'm in a color mood today!

"Americana"

Available - This farm and tractor really exist on the back roads between Rockport and Austin. The people who live there always have something funky in the pasture and they love to have people stop and take pictures. I briefly met them the day I took a photo of their place.

"Point'n Fish" - SOLD

Available - This painting was done from a photo of a recent fishing trip in South Texas. Rudy the dog not only hunts birds, he points fish too!

"Lake Travis I"

Available - Lake Travis off Hudson Bend Road at the Sikes home. Nice backyard view! This is another plein air painting, done this morning in one take, no touch ups. It's getting hot out there!

"Mt. Bonnell" - SOLD

Available - Right before leaving for Galveston several of us had a plein air paintout at the top of Mt. Bonnell on a HOT morning. "Hello" to the women joggers who stopped, looked and talked about our paintings.

"Old Barn II"

Available - This is an old barn located in East Austin. It spoke to me, so I had to paint it. As you can see from my blog, sometimes I paint very traditional and other times, I just let my mind loose. Lately I've been asked to paint larger, so this is my largest painting to date - 18 x 24! Enjoy!

"Odd Balls"

Available - I created this abstract in a recent workshop with super artist Rae Andrews. This is mixed media starting with colored pastel paper, watercolor and inks and finally accented with pastels. I love doing abstracts - never know what's going to come out of my head.
