"Intertwined" - SOLD

Thank you Tony & Cindy for making space in your home for "Intertwined". I appreciate your support! I know this looks like a simple painting, but I had to wipe off my canvas twice before I got this version and it's still not what I was trying to accomplish. Some days are just harder than others to translate my mental images on canvas. When it got to this stage David decided he liked it, so here it is.

"Tropical Calla Lilies"

This one went thru several versions before I got to this point. This is definitely not the scientific version of the calla lily, but it's a fun one!! Enjoy!

"Yellow Iris"

I guess I'm in love with spring! Lately, I've really been into painting flowers and plants. I'm trying to enjoy every minute of this fabulous weather. It won't be long and we'll be shriveling under 100 degree days!

"Dove House" Plein Air

This is a plein air painting done at Mayfield Park of the old dove house. The doves are not there any more, but the house remains. I'll bet they had some great parties in this bird mansion once upon a time.

"Amaryllis" - SOLD

More florals from Mayfield Park. I still can't believe that I've lived here over 30 years and never stopped at this free park. There were so many flowers in bloom, I went on photo safari. This is a studio work, not plein air.

"Dragonfly" - SOLD

This is a small pastel sketch I did of a dragonfly from my backyard pond. He seemed to want to pose for me, not moving at all as I moved all around him. Rebecca at The Home Spa sold this little guy for me. Thank you Rebecca.

"Designer Apples" - SOLD

I like these small paintings because I can get more done! I've decided to do a bunch of small studies that hopefully can stand on their own, but also serve as a guide for larger paintings. I did this one yesterday at Rae Andrews one day workshop. We always have so much fun painting with her.

"Lily II" - SOLD

This is another one of my very small paintings (5 x 7 watercolor). I've painted this lily before in oils and sold it. So I thought I'd paint it again in watercolor. I used a slightly different photo for reference so it's not exactly like the first painting. Got those really vivid colors again using the board surface vs paper.

Studio Tour

Meet some of the ladies I paint with on Tuesdays - very talented!! This photo is of group in the gallery area. From L-R: Martha, Paula, Maureen, Corinne, Sue, Rae, Me, Kathy, Nancy, Debbie, Joanna and Barb. What a fun day we all had visiting different art studios.

"Mexican Palm" Abstract - SOLD

Thank you Jan & Richard for adding this little one to your "Vicki Brevell Gallery". ENJOY!! This is a little bitty 5 x 7 watercolor done on watercolor board. I bought 3 small boards last week to try them out. Turns out I really like painting on this surface. It's not as transparent as working on paper, but I love the super vivid colors I get. This was inspired by the trip last year to Ajijic Mexico. I loved all the bright colors!

"Bloomin' Cactus" - SOLD

How Texas can you get? As long as we have to look at all these cactus, we should embrace the beauty of their blooms!

"Big Tree"

The inspiration for this one came from Rockport Big Tree park. I've been experimenting with just canvas before my face with no reference materials. I'm tring to use recall and imagination.

This is my representation of waiting at a restaurant for my partner.
