"Chat Gourmand"

This is a restaurant sign painting. I saw this place in Aix in Provence France 2 years ago and decided right then I would paint it. You can see how long my painting queue has become. It's a little restaurant on a side street and there was a metal painted cat hanging by the entrance door. I thought he looked like a French Cat. We didn't stop to eat there - wonder what the food was like.

"Intertwined" - SOLD

Thank you Tony & Cindy for making space in your home for "Intertwined". I appreciate your support! I know this looks like a simple painting, but I had to wipe off my canvas twice before I got this version and it's still not what I was trying to accomplish. Some days are just harder than others to translate my mental images on canvas. When it got to this stage David decided he liked it, so here it is.

"Ligurge Italy"

I really have been painting in the new studio, but my computer broke 4 days ago and I haven't been able to post anything! I now have a temporary remote hookup that's good until the computer guru can come over next week and fix my bigger problems. This painting was done from a photo of the Italian coast. I started it a year and a half ago and "found" it in my old studio when I made the move to the new space. Once found, I thought I'd finally finish it.

"Chianti Country" Fall

At long last, the new studio is DONE!! Yesterday was my first day painting in the new digs and I shared the wonderful experience with my art buddies Rae & Sue. We painted, sang old songs, danced, ate a little chocolate and hung paintings in the new gallery space. What a great way to celebrate!!! The above painting was pronounced "done" by my friends and will be my first post from the "new studio". Now I've got to get back to work.

"Which Way?"

This is another painting using the tools learned in Vie's workshop. The object was abstract movement with an overlay painting. After completing the background I thought I saw a fish - I pursued it from there and came up with this painting.

"French Gate"

This one's hot off the old easel - finished it today. It's from another photo taken on the last France trip where, once again, I'm fascinated with gates & doors leading to ???? This could easily be right here in Austin. We do have similar rock and plants, but it's really from a small town in Provence.

"Lone Drifter" - SOLD

This painting is from a photo taken from the Ajijic Jalisco trip. There were many little fishing boats around and this one, all by itself, caught my eye.
