"Unfurling"

It was hard to decide which way to display this one. My husband liked it vertically, I liked it horizontally, but it can go upside down too. It was painted as a non-objective design,, but it has the feeling of bird of paradise. Guess it's just up to the viewer what you see and which way you want to look at it!

New Studio Space

View from studio deck. I take all my breaks out on the deck, watch the wildlife come thru and go back into the studio to work.

This is a portion of the gallery area. Still have lots of wall space left!!

No studio space would be complete without a little wet bar. Have a fridge, micro, sink and wine rack! Always good to be prepared.

Painting space - can't get it all in with the photo, but I have plenty of room for all my "stuff" including the TV, computer and stereo. Must be happy while painting!

Another corner of painting space. I'm currently working off my framing table until I purchase another high table to hold my paints. I love my peg board with all my tools at hand.

"Floral Still Life" - SOLD

This was fun painting to do. My goal was to be more loose and colorful. Also, I've had several requests to see the new studio, so I will post a couple of photos tomorrow showing the new space.

"Bull Creek" Revisited

This is a plein air painting I did months ago, but didn't like. I reworked the painting and thought I'd give it another post.

"Yellow Flower" - SOLD

What a unique title for a painting! Couldn't think of anything else. This is acrylic paint on gessoed paper meant to be a loose representation. I'm on a mission to get on a regular painting schedule in the new studio and hope to be posting every other day. I will be including some new experimental paintings.

"Tomato on Plates"

This painting has caused much discussion with my art group. The more you look at it the more you see. Hint: It's a big square plate, containing a small round plate. Whatever else you see is up to you. Enjoy!

"Floral Abstract"

This is another experiment with photographing the painting in a mat. In reality the mat is pure white, although the colors of the painting seem to be pretty accurate. Interesting - might want to unmat before I take the photo next time. Anyway I meant this to be a little abstract with a iris feel.

"Bolivar Lighthouse" - SOLD

This is(was??) the lighthouse on Bolivar Peninsula before Ike hit. We haven't been back to see if it is still standing. We've been wanting to revisit Galveston but have been so busy here, we haven't had the time to make the trip. I think my computer is FINALLY fixed, so I can post again regularly. What an uphill battle this has been - 2 calls to India, one trip to the IT guy, 2 visits from Time Warner, hours of my time & frustration and . . it's working!

"Ligurge Italy"

I really have been painting in the new studio, but my computer broke 4 days ago and I haven't been able to post anything! I now have a temporary remote hookup that's good until the computer guru can come over next week and fix my bigger problems. This painting was done from a photo of the Italian coast. I started it a year and a half ago and "found" it in my old studio when I made the move to the new space. Once found, I thought I'd finally finish it.

"Chianti Country" Fall

At long last, the new studio is DONE!! Yesterday was my first day painting in the new digs and I shared the wonderful experience with my art buddies Rae & Sue. We painted, sang old songs, danced, ate a little chocolate and hung paintings in the new gallery space. What a great way to celebrate!!! The above painting was pronounced "done" by my friends and will be my first post from the "new studio". Now I've got to get back to work.
