There is an online painting group called "Different Strokes From Different Folks". Every month there is a photo submitted and posted on line. Painters from all over the country interpret and paint from that photo. Then all the work is posted on line. For the month of December, we were asked to submit a head shot photo of ourselves. Our photos were sent to other participating artists (who we didn't know) all over the country and they painted from that photo. So this lovely gal I just painted is another artist (I don't know) who may be painting my portrait. I have posted the photo of her below so that you know what she really looks like!!
Unknown artist photo UPDATE: The artist is now known! Meet Kris Wood. I feel like I know her quite well after studying her face for hours while painting her. She's a fellow artist, art teacher and Sooner fan (which I will not hold against her). We have agreed to trade our finished portraits with each other. This turned out to be way more fun than I could ever have imagined.

How fun! You did good, too. Can you tell us where we can see all the different interpretations? It would be neat to see how other artists portray the "subject of the month."

It was so much fun. The gal I painted ended up painting me! We have since corresponded via email and we are going to trade portraits. She’s an art teacher who lives outside Dallas. The blog site for this is: differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com They have already started posting the portraits. Some of the links will show the photo and the painting, but not all of them do. I wish they would all show their reference photo.

Hey!!! Awesome!!! I love it!!! I can't claim to be any kind of portrait painter... I made about nine or ten different versions of you before finally deciding on one of them. After I sent it in to Karin, I worried that it was just too cartoonish or simplistic or just not good enough to be included among the incredible offerings of so many wonderful artists! LOL My students (I'm an art teacher) critiqued all the versions and helped me decide which one to turn in.
I hope that my being a Sooner fan doesn't disqualify me from friendship... hee hee! Great job, Miz Brevell. It was fun getting to know your face so well. LOL
Really great job on the challenge! My painting partner and I are going to exchange our portraits too - what fun!!!
