I painted this today with my buddies out by the lake. This was painted alla prima (painted all at once) and was still very wet when I photographed it. There' a little glare on it. This is a pretty piece of land located in back of the 4-Seasons hotel on Lake Austin. Perfect place for a picnic - don't you think?

This made me think of how fabulous the crepe myrtles are this summer. I've never seen them so beautiful. I think they liked the cold winter and the early spring rains.
