Yupo Floral

This is my latest adventure I've been working on.  This floral is painted on Yupo paper.  Actually, it isn't paper, but a plastic surface that does not absorb any paint.  The paint "floats" on top of the surface until it dries.  This one's done in watercolor.  The fun thing about Yupo is you never quite know how the paint will dry.  It's a surface that causes you to keep coming back many times to re-wet and re-paint.  In the end, it has a much different quality than painting on regular paper.  Comments are always welcome!!!

You inspire me - have some of this paper but have not tried it yet. I like the soft edges and very watery quality of the colors. Bravo!

Just got off the phone with my son in the military. 9 years and now stationed in Alaska. I just sent him and his wife and children this. I think they may love it as much as I do. Felt like I could pick the flower.

Vicki,

With every one of your periodic emails I am re-energized by getting this chance to share in your artistic journey.
Most of the time I am almost moved to drop a line, and even ask if I can buy the painting that you show.
This time I can't resist. I'd really like to see the Yupo results up close to experience the unique qualities of paint on non-paper!
I think I need to expand my Brevell collection again... is Yupo Floral available for sale? How much? What are the dimensions, is it stable enough to mail (I assume you would need to send it flat, not rolled, at the least).
Let me know.
Your admirer
Tom

I think I like this one. Even on the computer it seems to show a lot of depth. I'm anxious to see it. Glenda
