"Galveston House"

Before the hurricane, we'd run down to Galveston a lot. There are so many old charming houses there. This is one I drove by on the way to lunch one day and just loved the place. I snapped a photo and am just now getting around to painting it. I've got to get back, but will probably wait until this horrible heat wave is over.

"Going" - SOLD

This was painted alla prima (all at once) and took 2 hours and 15 minutes. I was attempting to lay the paint down quickly but accurately. My natural tendency is to keep going over my paint work with additional adjustments. I was attempting to force myself to lay the paint down and LEAVE it alone. Sounds easy, but it's not.

"Rockport Egret"

ANNOUNCEMENT: I forgot to mention that I have some of my art displayed at "The Daily Grind" coffee house in Round Rock for the month of July. If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by. It's located on 620 close to the corner of Cornerwood, just past Great Oaks Drive. The best landmark is the Bank of America. It's right next door. The painting - This bird held really still for me to take his picture. I think he knew he was going to be a model for a future painting. I love going to Rockport, being close to the water and birds. There's always pleasant surprises and I never get tired of going there.
