Round Rock Library - Plein Air Study

Several people asked me to show the painting I was working on in the previous post. This is my pastel study of the library entrance. It wasn't a particularly easy painting to do. Besides straddling that rock wall for several hours, I was sitting so close to my subject it was difficult to scale down my drawing. It ended up being 12x9.

I enjoyed your comment about "easy". Finding that plein air is becoming more difficult with my advancing age, I'm working more in the studio. Straddling walls, swatting bugs, baking in the heat and shivering in the cold is becoming more and more a thing of the past I'm afraid. But I love the companionship of painting with the PAA painters so I guess I'll hang in there for as long as I can.
